Cons- owner (Guy Schlacter) was a bully, rude and deceptive. 1 week before our visit, there was a leak and flood that took out 1 bedroom and 1 bathroom. We were going to cancel and book another place we found. GUY promised the bedroom would be ready but the bathroom would be out of commission. Upon arrival at 5pm on a Sunday, the bathroom was completely torn down to the studs( expected). The bedroom was completely covered in plastic, trim, floor runners, tools, a toilet and misc other remodeling supplies. The way the owner talked, he seemed to know the bedroom was covered in plastic and not usable. Guy's solution was to send a cleaning crew...on a Sunday evening as we are all arriving. Conservative estimate, it would have taken 5 plus hours to clean that place up(pics below). Not to mention the workers coming and going as we are trying to vacation. When asked about partial refund for a completely unusable bedroom and bathroom, Guy threatened to cancel the contract and change the door codes. Awful way to treat a guest, especially a guest that was understanding of the flood situation. As a result, we had to have family members sleep on air mattresses on the floor.
- upstairs rooms get very hot in the evening and the windows wouldn't open
- beds are extremely uncomfortable and noisey
- couch and chairs were extremely worn out( hard, flat cushions) and uncomfortable.
- the dryer seems like it vents straight upstairs
-only one outlet works in the kitchen

Unfortunately all the statements posted about the recent stay this month are completely true. We have 10 people that can back all of this up. We booked this 4bed/4bath months ago only to find out there had been a flood that damaged one of the bathroom shortly before our trip. With this being the week of Spring break there was only one other available place that could accommodate our family of 10. Guy assured us he was pushing to get the bathroom completed they were only waiting on cabinets to install. However if they could not get these in time he confirmed the bedroom would be clean and ready for us to use upon arrival.
After driving 12hrs we arrived to a bathroom that was down to the studs (thought they were only waiting on the cabinets to install) the bedroom smelled like a job site, dirty, covered from floor to ceiling in materials and a toilet next to the bed. Pics in above post.
When my sister called guy to talk through all these things to see why he did not insure the room was ready for us he continued to put the blame on others. Since we were now down to a 3bath/3bed she let him know we felt it would only be fair for a partial refund. He said NO way would he ever give any kind of refund this was not his fault he would just change the codes and we could go stay somewhere else. This was 6pm of Spring Break week w/a family of 10 that just drove 12hrs, there was nothing else available to rent.
As for the other things throughout the condo furniture, windows, outlets nothing is maintained. Everything is very old, broken and in poor condition. We are all adults and know how to open windows and adjust all the thermostats. You cannot open or adjust if they are broken.
I would tell everyone you know to 100% avoid renting from this owner. He is a deceptive bully that was willing to kick us out knowing he was truly at fault.

We love staying in this condo with our family and friends. It is so comfortable; there is plenty of room, the fully stocked kitchen is great when we want to cook a meal, and the location is very convenient. Skiing at Keystone, A-Basin, Breckenridge or anywhere in Summit County is easy with the common ski pass. Guy is very helpful with our vacation planning, and communicating answering our questions. Ask him about some of the special resort dinners that make a special family memory.

The Gateway building has a great location, covered secure parking and fun heated pool with a hot tub. We walk to River Run, or take the very short shuttle ride if with little kids or loaded down with equipment. GreatRentalKeystone has reasonable prices with No booking fees that you'll find in other listings. Guy is easy to reach via the website GreatRentalKeystone.
